USSA Local Field Director Meeting Coming up in January

12/16/09

The New Year will soon be upon us.  Next year looks to be another very busy year defending sportsmen from attacks by the anti’s and introducing youth to the outdoors through our signature Trailblazer Adventure Day Program.  As a result, the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance (USSA) wants to get started early with 2010 planning.

A key part of our grassroots efforts involve our Local Field Directors (LFD).  In order to get both longtime and new LFDs up to speed on current events, the 2010 LFD Conference will be held in Columbus, Ohio at the Cardinal Shooting Center on January 29-31.

The weekend kicks off with a reception to be held on Friday evening beginning at 7:00 p.m., followed by a business meeting taking place all day on Saturday and a wrap up with breakfast on Sunday morning. We promise a mix of fun including trap and archery shooting, tall tales and prizes.

The Cardinal Shooting Center features a state of the art 3-D archery course, the third largest trap range in the country, a stocked fishing pond and an international bunker trap.  The Cardinal Center is a regional training center for USA Shooting. For more information, visit the Cardinal Center website at www.cardinalcentercamp.com. Loaner firearms, fishing equipment (weather permitting), and bows will be available but you are certainly welcome to bring your own. We will supply ammo. Back by popular demand will be a large drawing for USSA logo merchandise and other prizes.

During the business meeting, we want to draw on your expertise to help improve our member services. We need your ideas on how can we get more groups involved, what these groups want and need, and how to attract other entities to help expand the Trailblazer Adventure Program. We also want suggestions on what new events and shows in which we should be involved.

The USSA fully expects you to come loaded with many other ideas to keep our programs improving and growing.

We hope all veteran and new LFD’s take advantage of this once a year opportunity to make a real difference protecting and promoting our outdoor heritage.

Once again, the USSA will cover your travel expenses, lodging and meals for this training.

Please RSVP by December 30, 2009 by calling 614-888-4868 x 202 or via email to fprice@ussportsmen.org.  LFDs that are traveling from great distances please RSVP as early as possible to give us time to arrange flights and lodging.
