Two USSA Local Field Directors Recognized by Outdoor Life

11/25/09

Two Local Field Directors for the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance (USSA) are on the prestigious Outdoor Life 25 2010 list.  In its third year, the program “honors 25 men and women who have changed the face of hunting and fishing.”  The list is made up of volunteers, product developers, wildlife managers and other advocates.

Howard Robinson is the USSA local field director (LFD) in Arkansas and has been a long-time volunteer for the organization along with his other responsibilities as the Vice President of the Old Fort Gun Club and an officer for the Arkansas Trappers Association.  “Howard epitomizes being a go to guy,” said Doug Jeanneret, USSA vice president of marketing. “He has become a nationally recognized leader with all of his fundraising efforts to save our outdoor heritage and the thousands of hours he has spent instructing youth and others new to the outdoors.  Howard continues to you beyond the call of duty for the outdoors.”

Michael Kapp, is another LFD for the USSA as well as the former Great Lakes Regional Director of Quail Unlimited in Wisconsin.  Currently he is the Chief Operating Officer of Complete Wildlife Conservancy, a nonprofit that works to educate the public about the importance of restoring natural habitat.  “Mike has stepped up for numerous groups, including the USSA over the years,” said Frank Price, USSA field services director.  “His work for USSA can’t be measured in hours or with dollar signs.  In the face of much adversity protecting our sports, he has risen to the top.”

This is the second year that USSA volunteers have recognized for their work.  Last year, Gary Oates of Kenton, Ohio, made the list for his decades of volunteer service to our outdoor heritage.

The USSA continues to look for sportsmen and sportswomen leaders to defend our hunting, fishing, trapping and shooting heritage. If you want to get on the front lines, the USSA needs YOUR help.  For more information, contact Frank Price at fprice@ussportsmen.org or call 614-888-4868 x 202.
