Hunting a Hunting License

Posted on September 21, 2012

During yesteryear, if you needed a hunting license, you had to drive around and find a business that sold the licenses, and then you often had to stand in line to fill out paperwork and drop your dollars on the counter. Today, you can avoid long lines and simply buy most licenses online.

In South Dakota, for example, you can purchase many hunting licenses at: http://gfp.sd.gov/hunting/licenses/default.aspx More than a dozen resident and nonresident hunting licenses were available. Hunters can also apply for deer, antelope, elk, mountain goat, bighorn sheep, wild turkey, waterfowl, and mountain lion limited-issue licenses while sitting before a computer. The best news is that when store doors are closed, or if you decide late tonight to go hunting early tomorrow morning, you can get a license—and go hunting.

Georgia’s Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Resources Division touts it has three ways you can buy a license there—online, through an agent, or by calling 800-366-2661.

The good news is that across America, if you want a hunting license, you can easily buy one. This makes going hunting this fall—and taking your son, daughter, wife, father, mother, brother or kid down the street along—much easier.
