New York Sportsmen Have a “Gun Day” in Albany
NY Assembly Passes Smorgasbord of Anti-Gun Bills - Fight Moves to the Senate 4/29/09
Sportsmen in New York rallied on Wednesday, April 29, at the state capital in order to raise awareness and demonstrate their opposition to a litany of anti-gun bills being pushed through the state Assembly.
Empire State sportsmen and gun enthusiasts flocked to the “Gun Day” rally organized by the New York based, Shooters Committee on Political Education (SCOPE, Inc.). The rally was coordinated in response to a wave of anti-gun bills making their way through the New York Assembly. Included in the 14 bills being opposed was a bill that would have classified many common hunting firearms as assault weapons (AB 6157) and a bill that could easily put law-abiding firearms dealers out of business through new, overly restrictive regulations( AB 1093). Unfortunately, these bills are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to restricting the rights of sportsmen and gun enthusiasts in New York. To see the full listing of bills – click here. Take Action! New York sportsmen should contact their state senators to express their opposition to these anti-gun measures.
